Enemy captured, invasion thwarted!

Invasion thwarted! This weeks CCF exercise saw Sjt Gus McCulloch as one of the section leaders for 1 Platoon Shiplake Rifles lead his men in the successful capture of an enemy reconnoitre patrol. The two sections included Lance Corporals Marsh, Chandler, Everett, Mottram and Rifleman van der Lely. Having been issued with rifles and blank rounds, they acted on intelligence that suggested an imminent large airborne invasion. Quickly dispersing into the 'New Field' battle zone they conducted two successful ambushes and discovered a map of enemy patrol routes which enabled the capture of the foe in further ambushes. The afternoons exercise was a great success, with Y11 to 13 showing the benefits of their training in a disciplined, cohesive and swift series of actions, using clear and effective communications. All the Everett cadets’ involved enjoyed the exercise, and are pictured below in action.
