Congratulations

I was delighted that this week David Hawes, our Head of House was made a School Prefect. This was just reward for and recognition of all his hard work in the House, contributions to school and House sport and the musical and spiritual life of the college. I wish him all the best in this new and challenging role, I am sure he will do a great job.

Junior House Basket Ball

Captain Markus Grun led out an all Y9 basketball team onto the court this afternoon. With a tough draw their first match was against Welsh. After an initial settling period they soon got into their stride, comfortable passing, good ball skills and excellent shooting resulted in a resounding 8 - 1 win. Next up came Orchard in the semi-final. This match was end to end stuff, with the action fast and furious as both teams tried to dominate. Half time saw the score 0-0. We came out in the second half and dominated possession for a while pulling away 2 - 0. Orchard equalised, and then agonisingly shot a later winner in the last minutes of the game 2 - 4 the final score. Markus, Max, Vieraj, Anthony, Will T and Will C all showed great House and team spirit and I was very pleased with their efforts.

Barcelona Hockey Tour

Several Everett sportsmen played an important part on the recent Barcelona on Hockey tour during the half term break. Captain David Hawes, together with Teddy Hewins, Ben Francis and Ollie Fogden enjoyed a successful tour. Winning two out of three games.
