Captain Markus
Grun led out an all Y9 basketball team onto the court this afternoon. With a tough draw their first match was against Welsh. After an initial settling period they soon got into their stride, comfortable passing, good
ball skills and
excellent shooting resulted
in a resounding 8 - 1 win. Next
up came
Orchard in the semi-final.
This match was end to end stuff, with the action fast and
furious as both teams tried to dominate. Half time saw the score 0-0. We came out in the second half and dominated
possession for a while pulling away 2 - 0. Orchard equalised, and then
agonisingly shot a later winner in the last minutes of the game 2 - 4 the final score. Markus, Max, Vieraj, Anthony, Will T and Will C all showed great House and team spirit and I was very pleased with their efforts.
