I hope you all had a great summer and that your sons and daughters are refreshed and ready for the new academic year.
A warm welcome to our new Y9 parents, we have 8 new Y9 boys starting in Everett this year.
I just wanted to clarify the start of term arrangements for all and weekend arrangements for new parents and remind current parents.
Timings for Return to school
Y9 Monday 3rd September 11.00 (11.30 day pupils)
Y13 Monday 3rd September 21.00 to College House (prefects and chapel wardens 08.30)
Y12 Tuesday 4th September 09.45
Y10 & 11 Tuesday 4th September 11.30
House Outing
This term we are going paintballing on Friday 7th September. Although the cost will be subsidised by the House I am afraid a small charge will be added to the school bill.
Parents of day pupils please note we will not be back until 20.00. If this will cause a problem with pick up please let me know.
Weekend arrangements for Y9 to 12 boys (Miss Andrew and Mr Brown will be in touch regarding arrangements for Y12 and Y13 girls and Y13 boys)
All pupils are free to leave on a Saturday from 16.00 or after their sport or fixture commitments, if these finish later.
Boarding pupils should be back in houses by 21.00 on Sunday if at all possible to allow a normal bedtime routine ready for Monday lessons.
Pupils (including boarders) are also allowed to return Monday morning, as long as they are back in time for house check at 8.10.
At exeats and half-terms, pupils should return between 19.00 and 21.00, the House will not be fully supervised before 19.00.
I would very much appreciate it if parents can keep me informed as to whether their son’s will be returning home, or staying at school each weekend. I think the easiest way to keep correspondence to a minimum is if I assume all boys are going home, unless I hear otherwise from you.
If your son wishes to visit another pupil’s house for the weekend, I need confirmation from both sets of parents or guardians please.
As ever we are very flexible – so just let me know.
There is a whole school chapel service this Sunday evening, in full school uniform. The Headmaster expects all boarding pupils to attend where possible, so please can your return your sons by 19.00 on the 9th.
