U16 Football victory - Taylor sets up the goals

The first U16A football game of the term took place this week against Claires Court, Milo Taylor played well for the duration of the match developing an understanding with strike partner Ruairi van Raalte as the game went on. He made various good runs creating space by taking defenders away, allowing Ruairi to weave his magic in the 6 yard box. He also linked up well with Tom Lewis and Matt Pollard down the left flank with some lovely passing moves. Mr Rowlinson (coach and manager) could sense his frustration toward the end of the game but feels there is no doubt the goals will come for him! Ben Markham came on for the last few minutes of the game replacing Milo who had cramp. He did well holding up the ball waiting for others to support then laying the ball off. He could sense that what was needed was to just keep possession of the ball and run down the clock as the opposition needed two goals to draw level. Shiplake managed to see the game out and won by 4 goals to 2.
