Last night
we had the Summer Concert, a fantastic evening with a real mix of musical
styles and instruments. Chris Baker sang and played in the Chamber choir, Samba
band, Senior Orchestra and combined Orchestra, again proving what a talented
musician and singer he is. Eleanor Waite provided excellent accompaniment on
piano in the Motown Bands rendition of ‘You can get it if you really want’.
Lucy Collings produced an assured and faultless performance of Demons by the
Imagine Dragons that had a well deserved cheer and huge round of applause form
the crowd, a lovely voice which she also show cased with the Chamber Choir. Mr
Brownley provided the Everett tutor contribution performing a Queen classic
with the Staff choir. Darien Patel
showed his percussion talents with the Samba band. However the most
contributions came from Josh Hirst who blew, drummed and sang his way through
the evening in just about every performance – Saxophone group, Chamber choir,
Barbershop boys, Funk band, Samba band, Clarinet quartet, backing the
Saxophone, and both Senior and combined Orchestra. Well done Josh.
