Senior House Cricket

Senior House cricket took place on a gloriously sunny Monday afternoon. The Everett team batted first and amassed a strong total, including a very impressive 25 not out in a single over, including 3 sixes from Captain Rory O’Conor who had to retire in this limited over game. We were pleased to welcome Eleanor, the first girl to play cricket for Everett, to the crease, who showed assured batting and good calling in her partnership with Charlie Proctor. Eleanor finished on 8 not out and Charlie 19 not out. Alex Sanderson also contributed to the run total. We also fielded and bowled well, a highlight being a wicket for James Martin off the first ball of his over, he went on to take 2 wickets for just 4 runs. However a mix up in fielding too many players at one point led to a run penalty, but even so we took Burr to the last ball of the last over, before they just clinched a narrow victory. Matthew even stepped up and took on a few balls from Burr’s Fili Savou.
