Good luck to the seven Everett boys in the South African Tour squad. I am sure they will enjoy the experience and come back better players and with an insight into a different culture. Pictured below are Will Clarke, Peter Baker, Markus Grun, Milo Taylor, Freddie Lang and Oran Mehmet. Also in the team from Everett is new Y12 pupil Freddie Ireland, a great chance to get to know and bond with his new school and team mates.

Shiplake College’s senior rugby squad depart on August 2nd for a 15 day tour of South Africa. After their flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg and internal transfer to Cape Town the players will acclimatise at the Alan Zondagh Rugby Performance Centre before they begin their programme of five matches.
A training session at the impressive facilities of the Stellenbosch University, which has produced over 155 rugby Springboks, will help them understand how important Rugby is in South African culture. A mix of hotels and billeting with opposition players will further help the players to understand the South African way of life.
A Cape peninsular tour, a hike up Table Mountain, the renowned Garden Route and game drives at the Kariega Game Reserve will introduce the squad to South Africa’s natural beauty.
