Strictly Come Dancing!
Our own ballroom experts Cameron and Teddy took to the floor at this years Ballroom Dancing Competition at Queens Anne's School. Dressed to impress they put into practice a term and a half's worth of lessons. Although disappointed not to take home any prizes, both really enjoyed the evening and the post event party too!

Junior Rowing Success
Despite the very wild and windy conditions Shiplake College’s J14 Rowing Squad competed at their first ever race at Hampton Head, Everett boys were represented in all three J14 Octuples (Max, Dom, Will C, Markus, James B). After some intensive coaching during January and in the Autumn Term. All crews performed exceptionally well powering down the 3km aided by a strong tailwind and despite a few racing incidents all crews returned in high spirits eagerly anticipating the results. They were not to be disappointed with the J14 A Octuple finishing in second place behind local rivals Reading Blue Coat School. The B and C Octuple also recorded pleasing results finishing 17th and 20th. The J15 A Eight also raced at Hampton and they are beginning to show real signs of progress finishing 14th in a very strong field (Gus, Oran, Tom H, Sam, Peter B). Although much work is still needed to be done to improve technical skills the coaches were impressed with what has been achieved so far.
House Music
The whole of Everett got behind Head of House David Hawes and were in good voice and spirits for the House singing competition. Jonnie B Goode was sung with gusto and rhythmic clapping by the whole House. This was followed by an entertaining rendition of 'Stacey's Mum' performed by Y11 to 13 with Tom Clark strutting his stuff as the lady in question, ruffling quite a few feathers in the audience. Despite coming second in this category we were a little disappointed with third place overall. But Jon Brownley who aided David in the rehearsals vowed we would come back stronger next year.
